“Why do we dance?” “Why do we love dance?”
In a nutshell, these questions were the theme of my last post.
But little did I know when I began my ponderings that day on the train, that I would stumble across what I’ve got for you today.
As it turns out, filmmaker Jim Manning has been asking these questions too.
In fact, these questions were the driving force behind Manning’s award-nominated (full-length) documentary “Why Dance?”.
I’ve made it clear that my WHY is deep because dance is part of who I am, and most likely you have your own reasons for dancing. But aren’t you a little curious to hear what others think and have to say?
“Why Dance?” takes an in-depth look at the world of dance, from a variety of perspectives. And if the recent self-reflection is straining your brain and spinning you in circles, rest assured “Why Dance?” packs in plenty of educational information and advice that’s ready for the taking.
From what I’ve seen so far, I’m actually quite impressed.
It does seem to focus on dance in the form of Ballet, and I can’t quite tell whether it caters to all ages, or favours the child-to-teenage dancer…but I’m willing to check it out. Looks as though there is enough content to get great value from.
If you have seen “Why Dance”, I’d love to hear what you thought.
If you haven’t and you’re interested to find out more, check out Amazon…
