If you know me or have been following my blog, you’ll already know I love dancing!
If this our first meeting you should know that I’ve been dancing since I was 4…well probably earlier than that, but that is when I started classes (mum’s attempt to burn some of my energy up!). I’ve been training at some level ever since and a few years back dancing also became a professional pursuit.
My latest gig is in the upcoming limited Australia tour of David Tydd’s Valentino.
We’re in the midst of rehearsals - about to get into the more intense end of rehearsals - almost every day from now until opening night in Canberra on Friday 13th February.
I’m really loving it - I’ve always wanted to learn lifts but to date haven’t really done a lot of it (most of my background is not based around dancing with a partner) AND the other dancers are really great. The choreographer for the show - Atalie Wilmoth - is not only a great dancer, but a genuinely nice and inspiring person who I am lucky to call a friend.
If you have not yet heard of the musical, and/or are not familiar with Rudolph Valentino, you may be wondering what this musical is all about? That’s a fair question.
To satisfy your curiosity you can:
1. Read on for some info provided in an article released to promote the opening shows in Canberra
2. Go have a read of the SYNOPSIS provided on www.seevalentino.com. On this website, you will also find details of all show dates and venues, as well as details on how to get tickets.
3. Check out the You Tube video below. This is a short promo clip compiled from footage taken during a smaller scale version of the production in 2007.
